We went on an overnight camping trip this weekend to King's River which is about 25 miles past palmer/wasilla area. It was the kids second ever overnight camping trip. Their first was over 2 years ago and Hailey was too young to even remember. The kids had a blast. It was our first time as a family using our pop-up camper. Justin had used it once before with a few friends. The kids were very excited to get to sleep overnight in the camper. Hailey had her strawberry shortcake sleeping bag and Daniel had his spongebob sleeping bag. They even brought their pillow from home and Daniel had to bring his monkey fur real pet. The kids thought it was so neat to be outside and in the camper sleeping and eating. They actually had no tv for 26 hours and entertained themselves by painting and playing board games in the camper. Our campsite was right by a creek which had fresh glacier water flowing. Zack came along as well and enjoyed drinking the fresh cold glacier water right out of the creek. Our friends Wayne and April and their 3 kids were also camping with us but they roughed it and stayed in tents. The kids both stayed up late Saturday night and had their first ever smores. It was a little cold through the night. The temperature went down to 35 degrees but we all snuggled up and did fine. All in all we all had a great time and it was a wonderful weekend
