Elmendorf Air Show Featuring Wynonna

Today we went with the kids playgroup to a preview of the air show. This is one of the biggest air shows for Alaska. It is also the celebration of the state turning 50 years old. We saw the thunderbird planes perform along with the blue angels. The kids loved watching the paratroopers drop from the planes. They even got to take their picture and get autographs with a few of the paratroopers. They got to go in several of the planes and hellicoptors and sit in the cock pit. This evening we had a special concert where Wynonna was performing. She came on at 830pm and was on until 1030pm. After the first hour at the start of the second hour she brought her mom onstage and they performed together alot of their older songs from when they were the Judds. It was an amazing concert and we were so lucky to be able to have been a part of it. Daniel and I went to the concert. It was Daniel's first ever concert and he had a blast. He was dancing the whole night. His little girlfriend Linny was there and he asked her to dance when wynonna was singing one of her ballads. It was so cute. Hailey went to the air show during the day but stayed home with daddy and watched the concert on Tv since it went pretty late at night. They had the whole concert televised on our local channel. Here are some pictures of our fantastic air show. One of the best air shows I have ever been to.

1 week till our vacation

We are all getting very excited for our summer vacation. We are flying out 1 week from today. First we are headed to Pennslyvania for a week for a big family reunion with Justin's family. While we are there we are taking a sidetrip to cederpoint in Ohio ( the #1 rollar coaster amusement park in the states) We have been wanting to go there for some time now. One of our old friends also lives close to where we are going to be that we havent seen since we left Charleston and it is going to be great to see her and her family again. Then we are off to Florida and shortly after arriving we will be going on a 5 day cruise to key west and the bahamas. You can't get more rest and relaxation then on a cruise ship where you get pampered to death by everyone aboard. Also while in Florida I am honored to be able to host a baby shower for one of my best friends Farrah. Towards the end of our Florida vacation my cousins from Indiana Joe, Alison, Ben, Lily, and Max and their mom my Aunt Marlene will all be flying in and all 5 cousins will be meeting for the fist time. They have been seeing pictures of each other since they were all born and have never had an opportunity to meet with us being so far away so it will be another great family reunion. The kids are also very excited to be going to see the backyardigans live on stage and their first ever baseball game while we are in Florida. I am also looking forward to seeing 1 of my oldest friends from jr high/high school days that I am going to be able to meet up with while im in town and she will be able to finally meet my family. Starting next week it might be awhile for new posts but when we get home from vacation I know Ill have a ton of posts to put up of everything we will be doing in our jampacked 3 week vacation. Talk to everyone soon.

Alaska 4x4 Meet N Greet 2008

We just came back from the meet n greet at the palmer fairgrounds which is alaska's biggest 4 wheeling event of the year. All the offroad clubs in the whole state of alaska mmet up for a 3 day weekend of camping and trail rides and family fun. Justin has been camping out for the weekend and will stay another night and hit some more trails tomorrow. The kids and I went up for the day today. Today was family fun day. We got there and they had a big bbq lunch with hotdogs and hamburgers. Then they had some kids games. The kids played tug a war, and had water balloon fights, and did the hula hoop and some races. They both won prizes. Justin was part of the event crew and helped with the ramp. Where all the vechiles attending go on a ramp and get measured. The kids sat and watched all the different trucks. They were all showered and clean when we first got there by the end of the day they both looked like they had been mud wrestling. Toward the end of the day they had a very nice dinner of chicken and ribs and lots of side dishes and then a raffle where we won a water bottle from northern 4x4 and a 1 year subscription to a 4 wheeling magazine. Today was also summer soltice which is the longest day of the year. We get 1 hour of darkness so when we left around 830pm to head back home it felt like it was 2 in the afternoon. Here are a few pictures from our day.

PALS Playgroup Trip To The Zoo

We went to the zoo today with the kids playgroup. It was a beautiful sunny day and all the animals were enjoying the nice weather as well cause they were all out and about. We showed up to see the dall sheeps during feeding time and got to watch them be fed and they were all right out by the fence. Hailey wanted to pet one but that didnt happen. Both the black and brown bears were up and running around and we got some pretty close up pictures of them. The kids favorite part of the zoo is still the polar bears. They call them the white bears. We also saw seals, otters, wolves, snow leopards, must ox. buffalo, caribu, moose, camels, owls, bald eagles and a few more animals. The kids each got a pet snake at the gift shop on the way out. Hailey got a red python and Daniel got a blue boa.

This is a great way to keep in touch with what's going on in the lives of the Williams' Family. With us being so far away it's great to be able to write and post recent pictures of what's going on in our lives. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family. Justin and I have been married for 9 years. Daniel is now 5 years old and Hailey is 3 years. We have Zack the Dog, Storm the Cat, Oscar the Fish, and out latest addition to the family Mr. Beans the dog. Justin is keeping busy working 12 hour shifts at the passenger terminal on base and going to school to complete his small business certificate program. I am currently a stay at home mom taking care of the kids which is definitly a full time job in itself and I spend a great deal of time volunteering at the Airman's Attic on base. Daniel and Hailey both go to pre-school 3 days a week. Hailey is currently in her 3rd year of gymnastics. She was been taking gymnastics since she was 18 months old and Daniel just finished playing basketball on the Lions pee wee league last month. We currently have 17 months left in Alaska and then we dont know where we are going to be moving after that. Justin spends his free time working on his Landcruiser and offroading. I spend my free time scrapbooking and keeping up with our blog, watching movies, and keeping up with the kids and all their activites. Daniel loves dinosaurs, superheros (batman, the hulk, superman, and spiderman his favorites, and doing arts and crafts.
